Preparing Children to Face the World: A Cambodian Mother Reflects on OYL’s Value

Teacher and business owner Chamroeun Molida shares her appreciation for CEO Master Club’s Outstanding Young Leader program—and the opportunity it offers her children to grow.

For parents, protecting a child is instinctive. Preparing that child to face life with confidence requires something more: opportunities to discover their abilities, participate independently, and learn to trust themselves.

That hope lies at the heart of a testimonial from Chamroeun Molida, a teacher and small business owner whose children attended the Outstanding Young Leader (OYL) program at CEO Master Club of CEO Institute.

Her experience touches on a question familiar to many Cambodian parents, including those balancing the demands of running a business and raising a family: How can we help our children become capable of standing on their own?

The message accompanying the parent testimonial expresses that concern:

“Parents often worry and want to protect their children so much that they stand in front of every difficulty, afraid their children will be hurt. But when children understand themselves clearly, develop courage, and can protect themselves, parents find their greatest peace of mind.”

For Molida, the decision to introduce her children to OYL followed a long period of watching CEO Master Club from a distance.

“I had been following CEO Master Club’s page for quite some time, and some of my friends had already joined,” she recalled. “But I was too busy to participate.”

When she saw information about its youth leadership program, however, she encouraged her children to attend.

As a teacher, she brought an educator’s attention to the experience. As a mother, she watched with a more personal interest—particularly as she quietly observed her daughter’s participation.

Her remarks describe a parent paying close attention to an opportunity she hoped would benefit her children. They also convey her gratitude for having taken that first step.

“I am very happy that I allowed my children to participate today,” Molida said. “This is a valuable resource for both of my children.”

She thanked CEO Master Club for creating the program and expressed her intention to encourage her children to return the following day.

Her testimony offers a meaningful point of reflection for Cambodia’s small business owners. Building a business requires time, attention, and continual learning. Raising the next generation deserves that same deliberate investment.

A child’s development cannot be measured solely through academic results. Parents also hope to see courage, sound judgment, self-understanding, and the confidence to participate in unfamiliar situations. Opportunities to practise these qualities can become a valuable complement to learning at home and at school.

Molida’s account illustrates why a youth leadership program can matter to a family: it creates an occasion for children to participate and for parents to see possibilities for their growth.

For business owners considering CEO Master Club of CEO Institute, her experience offers a personal introduction to its learning community. Parents can explore OYL for their children while also learning about the Club’s membership and business training opportunities for themselves.

The aspiration is deeply human: to build a stronger livelihood while helping children become more prepared for the lives ahead of them.

Sometimes, a parent’s next meaningful investment begins with giving a child the opportunity to step forward.
