A National Movement for a Stronger Cambodia
Delivering the keynote address, H.E. Dr. Om Sengbora, Chairman of the CEO Institute and Founder of the "Khmer Must Be Strong" Campaign, emphasized that every Cambodian is a co-founder of this national movement.
He explained that the campaign is more than a development initiative—it is a nationwide call to inspire Cambodians both at home and abroad to become stronger in every dimension of national life, including:
- Physical strength
- Mental resilience
- Knowledge and wisdom
- Character and discipline
- Unity and solidarity
- Productivity
- Technological advancement
- National security
- Political stability
- Economic competitiveness.
According to Dr. Om Sengbora, strengthening these foundations will enable Cambodia to withstand future challenges, overcome crises, and respond confidently to increasing regional and global competition while supporting the Royal Government of Cambodia's Pentagonal Strategy and the nation's long-term vision of becoming an upper-middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income country by 2050.
He further stressed that a strong healthcare sector is not merely a business objective but a strategic national asset that safeguards the health, dignity, economic resilience, and future prosperity of the Cambodian people.
Building a More Competitive Healthcare Industry
Speaking during the forum, Dhammadānācāriya Kem Oeurn, Chief Executive Officer of the CEO Institute, highlighted that the primary objective of the event was to strengthen Cambodia's private healthcare industry through three strategic pillars.
1. Unity
The CEO Institute announced its commitment to supporting the establishment of a Healthcare Entrepreneurs Community, creating a collaborative platform where healthcare business owners can connect, exchange knowledge, support one another, and work collectively to strengthen Cambodia's private healthcare ecosystem.
The initiative seeks to foster long-term partnerships that encourage innovation, sustainable growth, and mutual success across the healthcare industry.
2. Standards
Recognizing that sustainable competitiveness begins with operational excellence, the CEO Institute, together with the Healthcare Entrepreneurs Community and relevant stakeholders, will develop a comprehensive set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) specifically designed for Cambodia's private healthcare sector.
These SOPs aim to establish a uniquely Cambodian operational framework that reflects international best practices while preserving national identity, enabling Cambodian healthcare institutions to compete confidently with leading healthcare providers around the world.
3. Capability
The CEO Institute also reaffirmed its commitment to delivering continuous leadership, management, and operational capacity-building programs for healthcare entrepreneurs and professionals.
These specialized training initiatives will focus on strengthening organizational leadership, improving service quality, enhancing operational efficiency, and promoting professional excellence across Cambodia's healthcare industry.
By empowering healthcare providers with world-class knowledge and practical management capabilities, the initiative seeks to increase public confidence in domestic healthcare services, reduce the need for Cambodians to seek costly medical treatment abroad, and retain valuable financial resources within the national economy.
A Shared Vision for National Prosperity
The 4th "Khmer Must Be Strong" Campaign once again demonstrated the growing momentum of a nationwide movement dedicated to strengthening Cambodia through collaboration, excellence, and innovation.
The forum concluded with a collective commitment from participating organizations and healthcare leaders to continue working together to build a modern, trusted, and globally competitive healthcare sector that serves the Cambodian people with professionalism, compassion, and excellence.
As Cambodia advances toward its national development goals, initiatives such as the "Khmer Must Be Strong" Campaign continue to serve as powerful platforms for uniting visionary leaders, empowering entrepreneurs, and inspiring every Cambodian to contribute to a stronger nation.
A stronger healthcare sector means healthier citizens. Healthier citizens create stronger businesses. Stronger businesses build a stronger economy. Together, they shape a stronger Cambodia for generations to come.
