Khmer Must Be Strong: Building Cambodia’s Economic Strength Through Unity, Standards, and Capability

“Khmer Must Be Strong”

Unity • Standards • Capability

Phnom Penh, Cambodia — In a world undergoing rapid transformation, rising uncertainty, and increasingly intense economic competition, the strength of a nation depends not only on its institutions or natural resources, but also on the resilience, capability, unity, and competitiveness of its people and private sector.

Against this backdrop, Cambodia’s private sector has come together under a powerful national cause: the “Khmer Must Be Strong” Campaign—an initiative driven by the conviction that strengthening Cambodian businesses and entrepreneurs means strengthening Cambodia itself.

At the heart of the campaign is a bold aspiration: to build a strong “economic army” capable of contributing to the Royal Government’s efforts to protect, strengthen, and advance the nation during a time when Cambodia is facing external aggression.

A Strong Nation Needs a Strong Economy

In today’s world, national strength is inseparable from economic strength.

Businesses create jobs. Entrepreneurs generate opportunities. Industries build productive capacity. Skilled people create innovation. Strong Cambodian brands strengthen national competitiveness. And when the private sector becomes more capable, standardized, resilient, and united, the entire nation becomes better positioned to confront challenges and pursue long-term prosperity.

The “Khmer Must Be Strong” Campaign therefore carries three fundamental pillars:

Unity + Standards + Capability

Unity reminds us that Cambodia moves further when Cambodians move forward together.

Standards enable Cambodian enterprises, products, services, and professionals to build credibility, strengthen competitiveness, and compete confidently in both domestic and international markets.

Capability is the foundation for sustainable progress. Capital alone cannot guarantee success. Cambodia needs capable entrepreneurs, competent professionals, skilled workers, strong institutions, and visionary leaders who can transform resources into lasting economic value.

Together, these three pillars represent more than a campaign slogan. They represent a mindset for strengthening Cambodia from within.

More Than 500 Private-Sector Participants United for One Cause

The “Khmer Must Be Strong” Campaign was officially launched on 7 February 2026, under the initiative of the CEO Institute, bringing together more than 500 participants from Cambodia’s private sector.

The gathering became a platform for learning, reflection, dialogue, and collective commitment.

More than 10 distinguished speakers shared their perspectives, experiences, and recommendations, examining both the strengths and weaknesses of Cambodia’s private sector and exploring how Cambodian businesses can strengthen their competitiveness, professionalism, resilience, and capacity for sustainable growth.

These discussions carried an important message: Cambodia’s future cannot be built by waiting for others to become stronger on our behalf. We must continuously strengthen ourselves.

Every entrepreneur who builds a sustainable company strengthens Cambodia.

Every business that adopts higher standards strengthens Cambodia.

Every professional who develops greater capability strengthens Cambodia.

Every Cambodian enterprise that becomes competitive internationally strengthens Cambodia.

And every Cambodian who chooses cooperation over division contributes to a stronger nation.

From Individual Capability to National Strength

The journey toward a stronger Cambodia begins with a simple but demanding question:

What can each of us become stronger at today so that Cambodia can become stronger tomorrow?

Patriotism is not expressed only through words. It can also be demonstrated through responsibility, professionalism, discipline, productivity, innovation, ethical leadership, entrepreneurship, and the determination to create meaningful value for society.

A business owner who continuously learns is strengthening the economy.

A company that improves its standards is strengthening national competitiveness.

A leader who develops capable people is investing in Cambodia’s human capital.

An entrepreneur who creates jobs and opportunities is contributing directly to national development.

When thousands of these actions come together, individual progress becomes collective strength—and collective strength becomes national progress.

Gratitude to Those Who Shared Knowledge and Believed in the Cause

The “Khmer Must Be Strong” Campaign extends its deepest appreciation to all distinguished speakers who generously contributed their knowledge, experience, insights, and vision. Their contributions brought valuable perspectives to the discussion on how Cambodia’s private sector can become stronger and more competitive.

Sincere gratitude is also extended to all sponsors and partners who placed their trust in this national cause and contributed to making the initiative possible.

Their support demonstrates an important truth: building a stronger Cambodia is not the responsibility of one institution, one company, or one individual—it is a shared responsibility.

The Future of Cambodia Is Something We Build Together

Cambodia’s path toward greater prosperity will require more than ambition. It will require stronger people, stronger enterprises, higher standards, greater capabilities, deeper cooperation, and a shared commitment to national progress.

The “Khmer Must Be Strong” Campaign is therefore more than an event.

It is a call to action.

A call for Cambodian entrepreneurs to become more capable.

A call for Cambodian businesses to become more standardized.

A call for the private sector to become more united.

A call for every Cambodian to recognize that strengthening oneself, one’s organization, and one’s community ultimately contributes to strengthening the nation.

When Cambodian people become stronger, Cambodian businesses become stronger.

When Cambodian businesses become stronger, Cambodia’s economy becomes stronger.

And when we stand together with unity, standards, and capability, Cambodia becomes stronger.

Khmer Must Be Strong. Cambodia Must Move Forward.

Unity • Standards • Capability
